CNN first created ImageSource to quickly serve a need in the market; the site provided video clips to editors of documentary film. In the year following its first launch, many competitor sites emerged with better user experiences and feature sets. CNN came to Method with an opportunity to redesign the ImageSource service to bring it up to parity with its competitors. The new site clearly communicates ImageSource’s value offerings — showing the breadth and depth of video content, highlighting recency and frequency of new additions. Keeping ImageSource’s limited resources in mind, the designs ensure easy maintenance. The site is also more engaging, with improved browsing, search, validation and transaction tools, and overall visual language. The ImageSource team felt that the resulting site far surpassed its competition.
