EMC had a strong reputation for its information storage hardware and hardware-specific software. After acquisitions of four software businesses, EMC was able to offer new combined solutions using open software alternatives. EMC asked Method to propose a web strategy for its new open software that would address the relationship and degree of integration between EMC’s open software offerings and EMC as a whole, while maintaining the strength and clarity of the brand.
The new site provides the ability to trumpet the new software offerings in a way that was not possible in the existing EMC.com site structure. It also allowed the creation of a new, optimal structure for the software offerings, while requiring minimal change to EMC.com.
