After conducting our research, we sat down together and brainstormed design implications we could derive from our research. We wanted to make sure to keep these implications in mind when generating concepts for our product.
- Design should help elders engage in activities, especially those that involve social interaction.
- Shouldn’t be set apart as a necessity, but marketed as a convenience.
- Should be seen as something that is used by everyone or that is at least targeted to everyone.
- Shouldn’t look unusual or complicated, should play off what they already know.
- Non-stigmatizing, accessibility, easy of use.
- Should allow user to maintain personal identity, dignity, and independence.
- Should take all aspects of life and aging into account.
