With the world globalizing at a rapid pace, air travel has become increasingly commonplace. Recent events such as 9/11 have meant increased security measures and stricter airport policies around the world. This in turn has created unexpected process changes and unpredictable delays, shifting the emotional state of many new travelers from anticipation and excitement to confusion and stress.
In an attempt to shift the prevailing emotion back to anticipation, I explored design opportunities within an airport to reduce passenger stress, to enhance the ability to receive information in a timely clear manner, and to promote a positive, anticipatory experience.
