Interaction design and strategy for products, services and digital interfaces

Resumé

snapsure

2004 /

Overview

The assignment was created to explore new applications and novel methods for interaction with a camera phone for a selected user group. We chose Elders because we felt it would be particularly challenging and would offer an ideal opportunity for gaining hands-on experience in a user-centered design process. Based on interviews, concept generation and testing, we developed a physical model and created a video sketch to communicate a few key scenarios of use. The final form quickly and smoothly transforms between camera and phone modes. A rubber grip handle further allows for easy slide and snap into camera mode. Modes are clearly and physically defined to avoid confusion. The form factor is familiar and substantial in size to create a sense of durability, while large buttons facilitate interaction.
